Welcome to the Jefferson County Business Resource Center’s (JCBRC) Business Start-up Guide. This site is designed to help you evaluate your business concept and prepare information that is integral to your success. Everyone’s time is limited, but statistics indicate that taking time to thoroughly evaluate and plan your enterprise will pay off in the long run.

In this process you will be asked to follow a few steps.

1. Read and acknowledge the “Confidentiality Agreement.” This is the JCBRC promise not to share the information you provide.

2. Register for the Start-Up Guide. The JCBRC needs to gather information on our business for internal tracking only. We will not share information without your consent.

3. Review the “Start-Up Business Check List.” This list does not require a response. It is designed to allow you to consider a number of issues that impact a business owner.

4. Review a standard Business Plan. We have included a comprehensive outline developed by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). You may review/print this document for general information, use it as a template for your business plan development, or save it and return to the process as time permits.

5. Review a standard Cash Flow Analysis. We have included a two-month cash flow form developed by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Completing this form will allow you to understand your start-up financial position. You may review this document for general information, complete it, or save it and return to the process as time permits.
